Swank Society
evolved from a moment of inspiration. It is that moment; a feeling, a, connection
and experience felt within the vibration. It is the realization, the therapy,
and the sharing of experience thru psalms.
THE CORE
We fellowship and indulge in the celebration and music of life. Our goal is
to provide a mix in a comfortable and eclectic environment, while encouraging
interactive communication and creativity in the Arts. We want to bring the
artists and public together to generate support for a Renaissance and resurgence
of an Arts & Entertainment movement and community in Chicago. The resurrection
of such a movement is at its boiling point due to the desire Chicago has for
a non- commercial, and avant-garde scene. Our circle consists of singers,
musicians, DJ’s, poets, and lovers of music whom appreciate both its
therapeutic and entertaining attributes.
Currently, Chicago has no consistent platform, or direction for the eccentric
and eclectic lovers of soulful music to fellowship. It has been undefined
socially as to where we stand as an artistic competitor due to the lack of
consistent venues. We have been known for gangsters, politicians, & athletes,
but have yet to emerge as an artistic region in the Americas outside of the
genre of Blues. Through this movement we can recapture the reputation Chicago
once had as a nurturing home for artist, entertainers, eclectic sub- cultures,
and innovation.
Our goal is to introduce,
a non-specific genre of music via SHOUTcast, a data stream provider for the
Internet. Our Publishing license agreement is legitimized by LoudCity. This
agreement allows Swank Radio to broadcast music legally.
Our target market is, every urban city on the face of this earth. The station
takes pride in its extensive music collection. Our focus leans toward Soulful
House, Nu-Jazz, Jazz, Electronica, Down-Tempo, Vintage, Neo-Soul and World
music. Don’t be surprised if you catch a classic Hip- Hop, Break Beat,
or Reggae set, to mix it up a bit.
